The Special Broadcasting Service launched their digital channel SBS TWO on 1 June 2009. SBS TWO’s programs include world film and drama, documentaries, international news and sport. SBS TWO will also screen some shows from SBS ONE at different times.

Seven and 7TWO are free-to-air channels broadcast in Standard Definition. Seven Network launched 7mate, broadcast in High Definition only, in September 2010.

Nine Network — http://ninemsn.com.au/
Channel Nine currently broadcasts digital to major metropolitan areas. Nine introduced GO! a digital-only channel in August 2009. Nine GEM, broadcast in High Definition only, was launched in September 2010.

Network TEN — www.ten.com.au
Network Ten launched their digital High Definition channel, ONE, in March 2009. The new channel broadcast a number of sports programs, including prime-time AFL matches. The new ONE channel is also available in Standard Definition.

Viewer Access Satellite Television (VAST) will provide digital television to viewers in remote areas of Australia who currently rely on analogue services from the Optus Aurora platform; as well as viewers who are unable to receive digital TV through their normal antenna because of issues relating to local interference, terrain or distance from the transmitter in their area.

FOXTEL is available through satellite and cable broadcast in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, Perth and regional Western Australia. FOXTEL retransmits the full suite of free-to-air channels via its cable service and most main channels via its satellite service.
